Freehand Feather Fiesta

Now Enrolling for April 2- July 3, 2024!

Get started now!

The deepest dive into freehand feather quilting available. Freehand quilting is my thing…and I love to share it. The frustrating thing about traditional classes is the limits of time and attention! In this incredible 27+ hour class I will be able to work with my students over 14 WEEKS. Class units are spaced throughout the 3 months as a pre-recorded, professionally filmed classes ranging from 2.5 to 3 hours each. Then, as students begin to practice material, they participate in an exclusive, private membership, Facebook group, where they are welcome to submit work for individualized drawing and corrective feedback to perfect their feather techniques. The class community will share their progress and their triumphs of quilting mastery! Additionally, live question and answer sessions allow students to get additional, personalized quilted and drawn questions answered. Work from the comfort of home on your own domestic or longarm sewing machine at your own pace. All classes are fully demonstrated on both styles of machines.

Freehand Feather Fiesta is a carefully planned, progressive learning program designed to teach you mastery of feather quilting and learn to manipulate the muscle memory of classic feathers into endless variations. Confident beginner quilters with strong machine control can set their feet on the path to becoming truly excellent freehand feather quilters with this masterclass. More advanced students will be individually challenged to broaden their skills with increasingly adventurous quilting.

What Have Previous Students Had to Say?

Maria Frazier-Stern....“I am so grateful for the opportunity to take the online course by Bethanne Nemesh, Feather Fiesta. I am a person with disabilities and require the assistance of my medical service dog, Maverick. Traveling and attending quilt shows can be challenging for many reasons. Being able to learn quilting techniques remotely has become my means of strength if my skills. The online format used through Teachables and the private Facebook group really worked! Bethanne provides very clear instructions with amazing examples while using digital drawing methods and demonstrations on the longarm and sit-down stationary machines. She made the learning fun and memorable while also challenging students to find their own style. I love that the class is mine and I can go back and review a section whenever I wish. All class Q & A’s on Facebook are saved as well. So there is never a moment I can’t go back for a refresher. This course was the best investment I have ever made. The first two sections alone took my skills to a new level. The most important component of this course was the ability to communicate with Bethanne and receive valuable feedback and encouragement. I would highly recommend this course and would be happy to speak to anyone who might have questions. I’m so happy with how much I have learned that I have already signed up for Bethanne’s next course!

Kim Cisar...I took this class as a confidant beginner. I was able to take the classes at my own pace and love that I can go back at any time for clarification or a refresher. Bethanne teaches this class in a very approachable way!! She makes easy work of what looks like very complicated motifs. This class is worth every penny!! Because of Bethanne and her very easy to follow classes I have the skills and more important the confidence to put them in my quilts. You will not regret taking this class.

Kathy Witdouck..."Freehand Feather Fiesta is a wonderful class with an incredibly talented teacher, Bethanne Nemesh. The silver lining of Covid is being able to take a class of this caliber from the comfort of my own home with the time to practice between each lesson and get one-to-one feedback from Bethanne. Bethanne is a world renowned quilter and she has honed her craft to be award winning. Most times people with this skill level have trouble translating their art for others to learn from. But that is not the case for Bethanne. She has clear instructions, incredible technology to broadcast her classes and an integrity to ensure we as students have the best experience possible.

Shelley DeHay-Turner...I have long been an admirer of Bethanne’s work and when I saw she was offering a class on feathers….I jumped on it. I have been a long arm quilter since 2004 and never ventured past simple continuous feathers. Bethanne provided such detailed class content in a supportive and creative manner. She is a giving, talented teacher who provides a highly engaged and interactive learning environment. My feather repertoire not only has increased my quilting portfolio but I can now say I have perfected the hump and bump feather technique and quilt these with confidence. I would highly recommend any of Bethanne’s classes regardless of your quilting level. She is a gem among quilters and an exceptional and talented teacher.

I am happy to connect you with a member of my student ambassador team. Numerous previous students from this class have agreed to be contacted to answer your questions outside of a "sales" format. Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?
The course starts immediately with access to bonus materials. The first module will begin on April 2, 2024, and the Class will be closed for feedback on July 3,2024. You will have permanent, lifelong access to all video classes and optional Facebook group content drawings, however the group is closed to further comment.
How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
What if something comes up, and I can't keep up with the course?
Life definitely happens. Fortunately there is no expectation you work at any pace. You can ask questions and request feedback on any module at any time during the course window. You have access to your classes forever, so there truly is no rush
Will I be charged tax on a digital class? Why?
US and global laws are changing quickly and vary state by state with regards to sales tax on digital items. The Teachable paying platform will automatically charge the appropriate tax as it applies to an individual state's laws or country tax code. Allowing a large platform like teachable to handle changing tax laws keeps me from needing to file in multiple states or be exposed to audit.
What additional materials will I need?
You are going to need 10 + yards of practice fabric for backing and tops along with batting. You are encouraged to work in small pieces however, and adding new practice fabric to your stash is easy. The welcome materials have specific yardage amounts and suggestions. You may enjoy stabilizing your quilted feathers with rulers. If you do not have rulers it is suggested you watch module 3: Stabilizing feather spines with rulers before making any purchases. You may also enjoy the optional $20 separate kit if you want to duplicate 2 class wall quilt samples.
What if I don't want to use Facebook, can I still enjoy class?
Absolutely. You will have full access to all materials, live broadcasts, and feedback with Bethanne via email (instead of group submission). The only thing you will miss is a supportive group of similarly minded quilters interested in growing with you, and the drawn feedback provided to them, which you might learn from
